Welcome to the information page. this page is for interested authors to read about the book and what it's all about, to see if you are interested in joining our little publication. First of all, I must warn you that this is essentially a self publishing deal. I am the editor and my name is Che. I am otherwise known as Goobs. you can email me with any questions you like. I may, or may not be able to answer them ;o) What is alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo?alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo is an internet newsgroup. People meet there...You can find out more about the Usenet group by visiting the faq on this site. What is the ACC Anthology? The anthology is an attempt at getting some works from newbies, regulars (and any other people interested) who post on alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo into print, by submitting a collection of texts to a self publishing company. Please let me explain this next point clearly to avoid further confusion. This publication does not actively seek any writers. It is up to each author to put themselves forward for the anthology, and no work will ever be published without an author's explicit permission. There are various reasonable motives behind this joint effort (like fun, ego, having a hardcopy backup of one's stories...) but it seems to be commonly understood that "earning a lot of money" is not one of them. (see Profit) What do You mean by 'Self Publishing'Self Publishing means that everything to do with the book is organised by the group. Most of the work needed to achieve this goal has to be done by whoever joins the project. This includes organising, selecting, writing, editing, compiling, promoting, designing a cover, collecting the fees and distributing the royalties. However, there is always the online editor to guide you through what needs to be done, and by whom. generally we accept that people have busy times and quiet times in their life, and we pick on the more freely available whenever possible.Profit as such, is not guaranteed, and in fact is highly unlikely. We at ACCAnthology.com profit only from the knowledge that we are in print, and that we have achieved something with our otherwise mundane/hectic lives. Our main goal is to make enough money to maintain this website, and fund future editions of the ACCAnthology. This is not to say that the books won't profit...but without the support of author advertising, there is little chance the book will go platinum (besides could you *imagine* lifting something platinum?). Who Do We Publish through? The online publisher is IUniverse.com A copy of their publishing agreement can be found at www.iuniverse.com/guides/publishing_guide.pdf.Who can join? There has been no restriction placed on any authors wanting to contribute into the alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo Anthology project. What kind of works are welcome?Cyberpunk related texts including stories and poetry. The entry size is limited to 8,000 words, however this can be revised in extreme cases. How do I join? There is no contract to sign. If you think about contributing a story or if you would like to help out in any other way, feel free to email the administrator for more details.I have more questions, who do I contact? If your questions regarding the project weren't answered anywhere on this website, email me at administrator@accanthology.com for more information. Or you can go to the newsgroup alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo and ask there. |
